TemDAO aims to build a one-stop platform for World Heritage and Cultural Assets protection. To achieve the objectives, we introduce several technicals and mechanisms, such as the data storage and transfer system, reputation system and behavior incentive mechanism. We hope World Heritage Conservation projects around the world will have enough resources to run successfully for the sake of humans; individuals and organisations can have enough motivation to support the operation of those projects, as well.
Our strategy is divided into 5 parts, including crowdfunding, IP trading, information issuing and exchange, resource sharing and exchange, and project operation supervision and audits. The crowdfunding platform is used to solve fundraising issues reasonably. The IP trading marketplace provides extra income for conservation projects based on their outcome. The information issuing and exchange platform is a useful channel for project members to communicate with and support each other. In addition to that, the resource sharing and exchange platform can optimize resource distribution and enhance efficiency of projects. Last but not least, project operation supervision and audit platform ensure the effect of projects receiving funds and empower individuals and organizations to stimulate the projects progress.
In terms of the tech and mechanisms used to support our strategy, TemDAO applies the IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) to store the data of projects, which makes data storage decentralized and secure, and zk-SNARKs to protect the privacy of projects and members. Query and API are open to everyone to access the data real-time for data sharing. With the tech, we can establish a real-time, private, secure data storage and transfer system.Another system is named "reputation system", combining real-life identity and on-chain address with SBT (Soulbound Token). All users can mint a SBT to represent themselves and record their achievements, interoperation, contribution during the projects through TemDAO. Due to the feature of blockchain and smart contract, no one can delete the record within SBT, which means most people tend to not be evil and increase their reputation. Based on the reputation on TemDAO, users will have chances to use it for credit loans and fundraising or get more rewards with a higher reputation. NFT will be issued to every participant in projects to prove their work, receiving the profit from projects.
In addition, the behavior incentive mechanism is designed to encourage individuals and organizations to contribute to our ecosystem. Firstly, the NFTs mentioned before are used as the proof of work to receive the shares of profit created by projects. Everyone in projects can be rewarded based on their NFTs. Then the outcome of projects, such as the IP-NFT, can be fractionalized to ERC20 token and distributed to participants of the projects as their payment. Besides,the layer cooperation function allows project teams to divide their project into several parts and distribute them to others (layers) on the layer cooperation platform with rewards. Therefore, individuals or organizations can take the rewards to finish the "Task" as a "Layer". Another one is the multinodes evaluation function, which introduces multiple parties as nodes to evaluate the project operation. The process is permissionless and payable, while the nodes should stake assets as the penalty of being evil. Reputation will be considered in this process as well.
The crowdfunding platform is the essential part of TemDAO ecosystem. It provides fair and transparent fundraising to the worldwide teams to help them spearhead decentralized world heritage and cultural assets conservation and make their mark on human history. The grants will be distributed through quadratic funding to ensure fairness and empower small-size individuals. And the grants are for teams with all backgrounds, offering them the opportunity to conduct values-aligned work sustainably. As a public good, we tend to be the ecosystem that all projects can rely on. To achieve that, TemDAO will be permissionless, and fundamentally modular so that anyone can join in and pick the most suitable way, empowering communities to build together. We hire experts locally to support teams to coordinate more efficiently and democratically on a broader scale.
$TEM is the governance token of TemDAO, which can be staked as veTEM to vote for fundraising proposals of projects. Once proposals are approved, projects can enter crowdfunding progress and share the matching pool, a space for projects to be incubated. Investors or contributors can donate to any projects they like with $TEM, $ETH, $USDC or other Fiat Money on the list and increase the weight of projects they donate to. Due to a custom-weighted quadrratic funding calculation, we are able to more efficiently distribute those funds by matching donators preferences, instead of putting the burden of funding promising projects solely on the donators.
As a NFT marketplace for heritage-related IP. Our platform and scalable framework for conservation teams connects heritage and organizations with quick and easy funding, while enabling patient, researcher, and investor communities to directly govern and own heritage-related IP. Different from the crowdfunding platform, the IP trading marketplace is for teams presenting their heritage protection projects, finding investors and collaborators and advancing their projects. Investors and funds get exposure to new world heritage projects looking for funding for their conservation goals, especially for those heritage sites available for commercialization.
IP-NFT is a unique digital representation of the conservation project or the heritage itselt that will be added to the blockchain in the form of a non-fungible token. This token will link to a legal agreement that you will have formed with investors (More information about the technical and legal setup of an IP-NFT will be released on our website). The intellectual property NFT (IPNFT) enables heritage conservation projects as well as future outcomes such as IP, royalty rights, data, etc. to be tradable. In other words, IP-NFT extracts the finance feature of projects and provides teams profit immediately. In addition to that, the IP-NFT empowers teams to extend heritage and their work to other fields, such as music, movies, opera, traveling, and much more.
The information issuing and exchanging platform is crucial for communities to discuss and exchange their knowledge and data. With full support from peers, the pace of world heritage conservation can be accelerated prosperly. World heritage and cultural assets should be accessible to everyone, everywhere, with no content hiding and no cost to participate. We also encourage experts and contributors to interact in a public and collaborative manner. It is a place for projects to be exposed to investors or collaborators through deep discussion about projects themselves. Teams are able to upload documents in PDF form, display the findings of the work in an attached wiki, and discuss the findings in a completely open and accessible forum dedicated solely to the relevant heritage.
In order to incentive such behavior, $TEM is distributed to participants who contribute to world heritage conservation project operation on this platform. Moreover, $TEM can be used as extra reward to be attached to questions or donated to excellent answers. The incentive mechanism encourges sustainable and high-quality participation by giving higher weight to long-term deep contributors. Apart from that, reputation and SBT will be offered to those participants based on their behavior to provide extra reward and record their experience.
The resource sharing and exchanging platform is established to accelerate progress in the world heritage conservation by collecting shared resources and making them globally accessible. We are coming together to build a community-owned and operated exchange of funds, data, software, devices, services, etc., making every heritage protection is not bounded by limited access to funding, hardware and distribution channels. Payments on this platform can be both in the form of IP-NFT fractions or other tokens. The majority of fees generated on the exchange flow back into localized language improvement and compliance within the ecosystem.
The heritage-exchange can be divided into three elements, a data exchange layer, an on-site exchange layer and a value exchange layer. Consumers (Users) and Providers (also reffered to as Service Providers) communicate with each other using the three layers. As for the data exchange layer, clients define their requested data or available data through an API for query and IPFS for storage. In terms of on-site exchange layer, clients submit their heritage site instructions and objectives for conservation. On the value exchange layer, clients deposite enough $TEM into the exchange escrow contract to prove their purpose and conduct a transaction on the Ethereum. The payment can be excuted with listed currencies or communited resources.
World heritage and cultural assets protection evaluation is a necessary and essential quality control step for heritage projects. The project operation supervision and audit platform aims to deal with the high cost in time investment and human resources because of the lack of relevant experts and fair mechanisms. We propose a blockchain-based incentive mechanism that rewards specialists also for their contributions to other heritage conservation projects and that builds up a reputational system to ensure the reliability.
According to the node mechanism on blockchains, we define each assessor as a node to deposit a required amount of $TEM to participate in project evaluation, avoiding them doing evil. To ensure fairness, at least three nodes are required to run an assessment for projects. Each node should provide a score within three aspects (efficiency, budget, quality), which will be weighted based on node's reputation. Closer to the average score, more reward of $TEM to nodes. Every successful audit will increase the reputation of nodes. However, anyone can supervise and question the result of audits with more deposition than nodes. Once the result is proved false, all the depostion of nodes will be the reward for the supervisor. Similarly, nodes' reputation will be deducted and supervisor will receive reputation as extra reward.
